How to Add Encrypt / Decrypt Options on Right-Click Menu to Windows 7 / Windows Vista

How to Add Encrypt / Decrypt Options on Right-Click Menu to Windows 7 / Vista? Many time you would have wanted to encrypt your any file but in order to do so you have do download either a freeware or a shareware. But If you use the built-in file encryption in Windows 7 or Vista, you might be interested in adding an option to the right-click menu to more easily encrypt and decrypt your files, rather than having to use the file properties dialog. Windows 7/ Vista has a hidden tool to encrypt/decrypt the files you just have to edit the registry to enable it in right-click menu. To do it just follow below steps:-

Press Star Menu >>Run and type regedit.

Than Browse HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In the right-hand pane, create a new 32-bit DWORD value called EncryptionContextMenu and give it a value of 1

Congrats you have successfully integrated Encrypt in the right-click menu.

After choose this option, you’ll receive the following dialog, asking if you want to encrypt just the file, or also the parent folder. You can choose Encrypt the file and its parent folder (recommended).

Now you will see that the title of the file has changed color from Black to Green. Don’t Panic this means that the file has encrypted. Now to decrypt just right click on the file and click on DECRYPT.

Although this file is easily decrypted on your system but if you use someone else PC and open the encrypted file there all the contents will be encrypted.
